How Buxton Supports Moffitt Cancer Center’s Mission

Watch as Jeremy C. My name is Jeremy Knox. I'm director of growth and market planning at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center located in Tampa, Florida. We are one of only a handful of stand alone cancer institutes in the nation. We are a comprehensive NCI designated center.

How does your team use Buxton? 

So my team and I use Buxton, at Moffitt Cancer Institute, to look at where we should be placing our growth strategy.

So in the past couple of years, we've used the SCOUT program, with Buxton, to identify locations to place an ancillary center. So essentially a center that would have, you know, advanced radiology services, laboratory services, delivery of radiation, chemotherapy for patients.

You know, being located in the Tampa market, it is very competitive. So we want to make sure that if we're investing into a property and building a building for these services, that we are reaching the right type of patient, in order to drive success for that center.

How does Buxton support Moffitt's mission? 

So our mission at Moffitt is to contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer.

And so that is at the foundation and the core of everything that we do. So the way that Buxton provides assistance in helping with that is, again, by giving us the tools to make sure that we are investing in our community. And when we go and we provide additional services, whether it be, you know, screenings throughout the community, we want to make sure that we are attracting those patients and getting Moffitt's mission out, so that we're able to continue to provide services. You know, whether it be making sure that the community knows about our clinical trials that are offered, which is a core part of what Moffitt does.

You know, Buxton will help us through, again, through population segmentation, you know, kind of identifying those core pockets and areas within our community that would be best serviced for that.
